Derek gave his life to Christ at the age of seven, surrendered his life to ministry when he was thirteen, began preaching at seventeen, and has been a pastor for more than a decade. He holds a bachelors and masters from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He married his beautiful wife Shirynn in July of 2008 and they have four children: Camden (16), Mattie (14), Josiah (12), and Chloe (10). The Ewalts enjoy spending time together playing serving, going on mission trips, playing basketball and anything outdoors.
